Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion have the important responsibility of distributing Christ’s Body and Blood to the faithful at weekend and holy day liturgies. All new ministers are asked to attend an orientation class.

Lectors
Dominick Rinaldi 937-859-5087 | Email Here
One of the ways Christ is present to the faithful is through the proclamation of Holy Scripture. The Lector ministry offers a unique opportunity for parishioners to breathe life into the Word. After completion of an orientation session, lectors are assigned monthly to proclaim Old and New Testament scriptures at weekend, holy day, and special liturgies.

Greeters

Christ welcomed friends and strangers alike. Following Jesus’ example of hospitality, the goal of this ministry is to welcome all who enter the church with a friendly greeting. Greeters are stationed at each entrance. This ministry is open to all individuals, couples, families, and teens.

Serving at Holy Mass and other liturgies is a great honor and privilege. Serving at St. Henry is open to all students in 4th grade and above regardless of school affiliation. You are invited to assist in parish worship by serving Mass after participating in an initial orientation class.

Mass Coordinators
Rich Magness 937-434-6586 | Email Here
The Liturgy is the “source and summit” of the work of the Church. Mass Coordinators prepare for our liturgical celebrations by setting up items needed for Mass, and ensure that Servers and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are present. They also clean the cups and bowls after mass.

Choir/Cantors
Mary Ruth Shearer 937-434-9231
St. Francis taught that singing is praying twice! Volunteer opportunities abound for parishioners interested in serving as cantors, choir members, and instrumentalists. Rehearsals are scheduled weekly, and groups provide music for weekend liturgies and special events.

Children’s Liturgy of the Word
Jill Coudron – 937-434-9231
Children’s Liturgy of the Word is an opportunity for young people in kindergarten through fourth grade to experience God’s Word in their own language. Adult and teen volunteers share God’s Word in simplified readings, psalms, and music in a child-friendly environment. Kids are dismissed directly from Mass after the opening prayer and return after the Prayer of the Faithful. Children’s Liturgy is conducted during the 9:30 am and 11:00 am masses on the second and fourth Sundays of each month, September through May. We are always welcoming new volunteers (child protection training required) to help lead this exciting ministry!
