A Pastoral Approach to Transition

Change is in the air. We already know that Fr. Jim will be leaving us soon, and we know that Fr. Fox will be our new pastor. When big changes are happening, it is helpful to know why. These changes are about more than just creating families of parishes.

What is Beacons of Light?

Beacons of Light is a multi-year process of pastoral planning for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati which seeks to help our parishes carry out the mission of evangelization.

Archbishop Schnurr tells us that, through Beacons of Light, we will be able to “more effectively accomplish our sacred mission to proclaim the Good News of salvation and make disciples.”

Responding to Change with Change

The Archdiocese of Cincinnati has experience changes including demographic shifts and fewer priests. For us to continue to carry out our mission as a Church, we must acknowledge and respond to our changed environment. Beacons of Light seeks to harness all of our resources – human, material, and spiritual – to serve the mission of evangelization in the best way possible.

“I am convinced that Beacons of Light, born of great hope, will enable us to form stronger parishes, centered on the Eucharist, that radiate the love of Christ and joy of the Gospel.” – Archbishop Schnurr
